I have a chicken coop that is too small for most of my chickens. Says will hold up to 8 LF but even 4 LF were cranky. Can I use it for the quail or do they need to be off the ground completely?

Quail can be on the ground, just make sure nothing can dig in to eat them.
They don't climb stairs/ladders too well though.

The hubs pulled some for me while I was at work so I’m just guessing around 150. The booger’s are too fast to actually count.

Did you open a new bag of feed for them?
I am curious as to how fast they will go through a bag of feed.

there is a ramp up to the hut area. I was thinking of having some in the enclosed part and some below in the run part.

They have barely touched their food so far. But I expect that will change in the next couple days. I’ll let you know when they really start running around.

Before going to bed, I looked in on the quail. One was too still, then moving oddly. Its head was stuck in the feeder! I managed to get it loose, and put the food in a regular feeder bottom. They can kick it around tonight, at least they are safe. Tomorrow I’ll make the hole bigger.
