➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

12 hours later, more pips but none zipping. I've totally forgotten what this waiting feels like. Hopefully I can run enough errands today that at least one of them pops out before I get back.
I hate the waiting game...it's horrible huh?

Run errands now and then by the time you get back they will all be out.

Number 17 finally arrived in the middle of the night. I think that will be the last of them.

My guess for the 4+ day hatch range is inconsistent temps from crowding the incubator. Sound right?
Having a full incubator will keep the temps more stable than a half full or very few eggs in the incubator.

Just wait til your first hatch. You will see just how crazy it gets.

:lau I am sure I will probably do the same thing!! Maybe get some tea and sit there staring at it all night :lau

Also...go ahead and request to be able do live videos on YouTube now so that is done and out of the way.
I will demand lives.
:D

You have to request to be able to do lives!? I thought you just could! Better go request it! Lol

This is just having more thermal mass to keep the temperature stable & smooth out the fluctuations?

I've been wondering through this. More mass is good and should disperse air circulation better. I'm still not convinced incubators are homogeneous continuous stirred reactors (CSRs). This is a heat transfer issue. The home built incubators with the jars of water tackle this by providing thermal mass also. Isn't physics fun?!?

Lockdown has begun.
