Nah, you'll be alright....some of the rest of us!There's currently inappropriate references tied to my posts in 3 different threads. I am lonely going to get a nasty message from an admin... It is not my fault that the world went down the gutter and pulled me with it.
You mean 'train wreck'!And y'all say I don't understand the term 'derailed'![]()
I do not think they are fragile...small yes but tough little things. What size of brooder do you have for 7 and how long do you brood them for? They seem ALOT more fragile than ducks.
Very different, how neat!I'm in the same boat but I don't train dogs.View attachment 1660772
Show us your candler, please!I just candled my 6 day old eggs - 12 clear duds and 60 somewhere on the spectrum of "kinda orangeish" to "uhhh why is that one upside down" to "definitely developing!". I think I'll get 45-65% hatch rate from initial numbers, not too bad considering they're all shipped eggs in winter and young unproven pairs.
One of my good friends got me a professional candler with adjustable cup for christmas and it made things SO EASY, even this early. If you have trouble candling quail eggs - that's the difference for sure!
16 more went into the incubator, 24 fertile-ish eggs on deck in case more quit definitively.
I pretty much do.Does anyone dry incubate their quail eggs?
