How many eggs did you set?

38 went in, 28 made it to lockdown. Second chick kicked its way out an hour after first, but third just finally hatched now. Hopefully the current three chirpers will encourage the rest to get down to business.

Hand not raised and knee not slapped. I haven't had any issues yet.

i’m on day 7 and candled tonight. I have trashed 2 that appeared clear and had shell cracks. 49 in new bator look great....17 in old bator iffy or clear. will let hubby re-candle 17 in a few days to see if any seem viable. rare color assortment and tuxedo assortment.

I probably could have run some of the ones I pulled a few extra days....but the hideous exploding eggs of which I have caught THREE in the making have become game changer in this particular batch It smells so much better now.

I'm not sure what caused what seems to be a bacterial bloom - the issue seems to have started in the side with the shipped eggs, but seeing as how it's only happening in one of my incubators I'm 99% sure it's my fault and I missed a spot cleaning it

Plenty of eggs still developing fine and the other incubator is going strong. I've ceased candling for at least another few days to minimize germ spread and preserve my sanity and am switching gloves between handling inside incubators.

I have heard that a mix of 50/50 mix of listerine and water is a good disinfectant. Anyone use it here?

I’m getting pretty excited about my quail. Tomorrow is day nine of incubation.

I’m on day 5 with mine. But Bobwhites take 21-24 days. So mine will be in there a little longer.

Mine are in an aviary, no hitting heads on the roof so no foam necessary.

Please tell me you have already candled them all at least once already.
