I could try wetting feed, and see if that’s it.Have you seen it eat?
Did you smash up the feed to make it smaller?

I got anxious and popped the top on 2 late hatchers and they both had curly toe. Fixed now, but the worst one was runty. Still walks funny and has a curled toe.Nutty & Kiki -are you having zero runts/dicky legs/other issues with your hatches?
I feel like I constantly have all these babies with issues, all from shipped eggs of different sources. Although it's not of my own doing, I still feel responsible
I hopethat with my own eggs I have zero issues.
View attachment 1674711 View attachment 1674712 i had another one pop a few minutes ago that wasn’t even on my radar! we jumped the gun a bit in assisting and i just gave up on 1 of those. 2 of the breech babies from yesterday are still in icu (the old bator) with food and nutridench but will probably be culls as they are not improving. just had 2 add 2 more to icu that inventively tried to murder themselves! one managed to get wedged under the legs of the brooder plate (i believe little yeller one in pic) and the other (almost solid yellow) was just flopping on its back in the food! i’m really starting to think getting these guys to adulthood is way more stressful than getting them to hatch!!!
oh and btw, i won another auction this morning and I have 60+ SSC eggs to be delivered next week!!
I also had someone interested in buying chicks....hubby saying I can’t sell any until he gets meat in the freezer!
definitely detailed pics! i’ve gotten a couple ssc so far in my rare assortments. they are such cute chicks! i was actually surprised that eggs from that collection are relatively inexpensive too! $18 per 30. i saved a few bucks getting them in the auction as 60+ with shipping came to $45.That is how my first chick from this hatch diedI'm glad you caught that one. I am also feeling very lucky to have had so few issues with this hatch besides that. It's been all healthy babies or failures to hatch at all. Very distinctly the OPPOSITE of last hatch with my terrible hatch rate and horrific cyclops chick. Where you order your eggs from matters!
I'm so excited you have more on the way, I demand detailed pictures of all that hatch from that collection![]()
