➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

day 6 candling....5/60 eggs non-fertile.....trashed and down to 1 bator running now! 3 chicken eggs under broody at day 11ish.....so want to candle but haven’t yet. A friend picked up all my eggs to fill orders so I’m at a bakers dozen for personal use until tomorrow’s collection!!! I gave him 26 dozen!! planning a trade this weekend of 4-5 pullets for 6 or so 5 week cornishX. I get my numbers down a little with plenty ready to butcher in 3-4 weeks!!! quailies are having a ball in their new area!! I let Hodor (my lone EE chick from early April) loose to check it out and one of my quail pecked him and he was such a drama queen!! I wish I had it on video!! :lau
26 dozen :th

Yeah, saw the higher level recommended most places. But real life experience trumps "recommendations" any day.

My hatches have historically been about that high because the internal humidity sensor and beeper on the incubator broke, wouldn't go below 44%, and hadn't been sufficiently disabled/murdered until partway through my last hatch.

My hatches have also not been great. :old Fine, sure, but not great. Other people hatch my eggs better than I have so far. So let's both experiment next time and lower it and see what happens.

I can't see anything...yet.

Man you guys make me feel like I need another fridge to prepare for the onslaught of eggs! Where do you store them all? Garage fridge?

It's um a little out of hand here.

Stacks?

I don't refrigerate for a few days first (for personal consumption only basically) because when a bear ate all my birds I rebuilt from a single tray of eggs I had saved.
