No it's really not As bad as it seems I promise it's okay.

My overall fertility is crap until I spend weeks watching them seeing who's actually breeding.

I finally finished making little shabby quail tractors! Yay! Now if only I had actually planted that garden bed with forage earlier....

If you want a bad fertility rate, I set 54 turkey eggs and only ended up with 8 fertile eggs. Of those 8, two looked like late quitters at lockdown. Six hatched yesterday and are now in the brooder. The two late quitters are still late quitters.

My tom is very picky about which hens he will breed for the first month of the season.

Do the celadon layers lay as frequently (more or less) as the other birds? Or do you know? I really love the blue eggs.

Are they? I know nothing about quail so have no way of knowing if they are reasonable or not

But that does seem pretty high especially when you add the shipping! Ha

But yeah, if they all lay blue it might be worth it...



They seem like they have a lot of cool varieties I want to try but idk if itd be worth it. Was thinking of getting one of the assortments.

i have ordered rare color assortments, SSC, tuxedo assortment, standard assortment, pearls, and sex-link. I’ve ordered from ebay store and won several in myshire auction on facebook. My hatch due Sunday is half SSC and half Assorted. I’ve got most of the colors now!

yes I have been very happy overall! My original pharaoh hatch came from purely poultry which gave me good birds.....they were just a bit more expensive with lower guaranteed fertility rate. Thinking of ordering a batch from kc quail in the future but they only list online with shipping included so will have to call to see if I can combine shipping on multiple orders. (because i want a few of this and a few of that! hahaha)
