➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Duckling found the hole in the quail pen simply because she was too tired to behave, and not get into the quails’ faces.
A tired, misbehaving duckling sounds like such a nicer description than an off rat. :gigi have a kid too though and totally understand how the words of frustration and affection get blended easily. :D

I may have found a local place that carries coconut fiber/coir in bulkkkk. It has ultra high water retention, it's used in the pot world as a peat substitute. Also great as mulch.
Has anyone tried it for bedding?
Hmmmm
Only for hermit crabs.

LOL I posted my reply before I read @BullChick 's

My brother uses it as bedding in his snake terrarium. It worked with for quail too. Its best to expand it (you add water) and then let it dry a bit so it becomes absorbent but fluffy. It is a bit pricy though compared to pine shavings.

I found some marketed as kind of a potting soil substitute/addition and was thinking of trying this in their dirt trays for bathing in. Anyone know if the texture might be right for that or would it be too course? Or maybe they make different kinds?

It’s a little too coarse.
