yes, we live on the ohio river and decided to go out on the jet ski for a couple hours today. first time we’ve had it in the water all season! there was still way too much floating trash to really enjoy it and I had forgotten how exhausting it is to ride on this part of the river due to all the wake from yachts and offshore type boats! we even rode to the waterfront downtown Louisville! as we were loading the ski to come home, a poor guy and his wife caught a large log under their boat trailer so hubby helped to safely drag it off the ramp for them.

That’s nice you live on the water! But I’m sorry some people ruined it :/ going downtown sounds fun though. And that was nice of your husband.

Your right and thats the way i think. There are too many unwanted pets in the world. I dont breed pets i breed livestock. When i get a pet i have made a promise to give that pet the best i can for its entire life. Putting the dogs out during the day on these runners is the Only way i can manage them. So they have nice runners with houses too and beds of pine shavings in the houses. I give them big bones often too. The runners are just from walmart, each one 15-30 ft 10-20$ depeding on the dog and i connect three in a row then tether the dog to the middle one. They get up to 90' x 60'(for the german Shepard.) Way more than theyd have in a kennel and more than i could offer even inside a fence or inside my house. They havent shown open aggression towards the kids, just fear and theyre high strung so not trustworthy imo.

Yeah, our animals all have homes for life too. I don’t get people that are so quick to just get rid of animals. Unless maybe it’s like an emergency or something but most of the cases aren’t. And personally I prefer to work through any problem(s) haha but oh wow that sounds amazing!! I actually kinda like runs and thought about making an in ground tether system for dogs before since our yard isn’t fenced. Though we’re hopefully working on it ha but the runs work too. Same idea. But anyway, a lot of people think tethering is cruel or animal abuse or something and I used to somewhat think similar or at least just didn’t really know much about it but honestly it’s way more room. They have a huge circle/circumference that ends up being way more room than some chain link kennel or crate or even an entire room in the house, all of which are supposedly way more “humane.” Well I kind of think freedom is more humane haha if you had to choose an option. Of course all our dogs are indoor dogs and pets with free run of the house and yard but if I had to have an outside dog, I would go to a tether immediately. Or even just for during the day. I’ve seen dogs who would jump fences or whatever be tethered during the day and brought in at night. And the dog was way happier cause it got to be outside all day whereas without the tether it wouldn’t have been able to be because without supervision, it scaled fences, even 6 foot wooden ones, and even being older, and they couldn’t supervise it all the time. So he could either be miserable inside or be happy outside but safely tethered in the yard. I think as long as they have shelter to get out of the elements and the heat or cold and have food and water and as long as their tether area is kept clean and nothing to get tangled on, it is perfectly humane. It’s when people provide no shelter or food or water that’s the problem. Sounds like your dogs have a very good life. And aww well that stuff could probably be worked on and fixed tbh!!

So I seem to have a sick bird. Seven week old male. Lethargic the last few days. Hiding in the corner. Wings a bit droopy. Breast bone feels prominent. All 21 other birds seem okay so far.

Ideas?
Can you seperate him out and check his poop?
Could the others be keeping him away from the food?

I pulled him out for the night and he is just sitting there not doing much of anything. Vent feathers look messy. Haven’t tried to clean that up yet. It has been warm (90s) this week. Some of the males seem more dominant than others but this guy doesn’t have any missing head feathers like some of them do. No major squabbles that I’ve seen and no noticeable injuries.

Maybe he is backed up...and hasn't been eating.
Is it wet messy poop butt or caked on hard poop?
