➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Maybe he is backed up...and hasn't been eating.
Is it wet messy poop butt or caked on hard poop?
Wet messy it seems. Maybe like he hasn’t been standing to go? He pooped a couple time since I segregated him. Smallish amount. A little whitish pale green and not well formed. Gave him some nutridrench in a syringe. Hasn’t touched the food or water dish on his own.

Am I supposed to know what Toastmasters is?
Its a club where you practice public speaking with one another. Mostly younger folks... probably your age. I enjoyed it, though. Very confidence-building, fun, helpful in lots of ways you might not expect. They’ve been around for decades... my dad belonged when he was a young man and I’m 60. You likely have several nearby. Our medium-sized town has maybe 7-8 groups, meeting at various times.

That sounds cool. I may have to find one to join near me haha

One more hatched early this morning. This brings my total so far to 11 hatched, one culled, and one more likely to be. 9 healthy chicks out of 28 eggs. I'm not going to complain because they were shipped, got stuck in transit during high 90 degree weather, and were my learning batch. Temperature got a bit low during incubation and humidity was all over the place. I'm doing better so far with the Falb Fee eggs, I think. Today is day 20 or 21. I set them on a Monday.

Curly toes doesn't look good. It spent most of the night on its back, and while it looks alert, it can't get to the food and water very well. :hit

I checked the rest of the eggs. No pips, no other signs of life. I'll keep the incubator going through tonight, though, just in case.
Edit: Awww, crap. The latest hatch has curly toes too. Not as bad as the one still in the incubator with it, though, so I have hopes that this one will straighten out on its own.

Apparently you can enter your location and find some near you. There aren’t a ton super close to me which is somewhat surprising but I did find a few.

Oh my...I have two within two miles of me.
I am going to call one and see what the requirements are. Both of them say they have requirements to join. There are a few other clubs that aren't as close that do not have any requirements to join though.

He might be feeling really bad especially since he isn't eating.

what is your average lockdown humidity running at? I haven’t seen as many “curly” toes since I’ve been keeping my humidity lower during hatch....but of course “late hatchers” always have higher risk of problems.
