Made quail for dinner. It was my first time cooking or eating it. It turned out okay. Could have used a bit more flavor. Also not sure I liked the sweet aspect. Will have to keep looking for recipes I think.

I wonder if I should get it.. seems pretty reasonable especially with the wooden bit and water bottle and everything.

I also found this one for only $35 and the metal stand, which seems really nice, but this one is a lot more rusted.

Looks like a real yellow to me. English white coloring, the spot will probably turn out brown and the yellow fluff will be white feathers.

I had to pick it up to turn it over to look for a bullseye... A bullseye that I knew was not going to be there because I haven't seen any mating.
And my boys are not talking yet.

I have I think 5 boys at just over 5 weeks and 3 are crowing, mounting, and foaming already...I am expecting fighting any minute now

Okay wait.... I just thought of a brilliant idea... tell me if this is actually brilliant or if it’s crazy/stupid.

Could I somehow enclose the bottom of that metal stand with wire and give them a run too?? Or maybe I could even remove the cage, build a small wooden coop or something on top and do a run on bottom?

Then have the cage as a second quailie cage?

And for the other one with the wooden hutch, could I do the same thing? Remove the cage, add some hardware cloth to the front and maybe ventilation and have two quailie cages for that price??

So for only like a hundred bucks I could have 4 quailie cages?? Does this seem like a good idea/possible? Or crazy? We already have a ton of hardware cloth at home, big huge roll, and some scrap wood, so this would be easy.
