Hey, muddy how are your Mels doing, have they started to color out yet?

oh yeah!! melvin has his full body coloring and now starting to get his head!!! i will have to get you an updated pic!! DH was just saying today that he is pretty enough to be a “show bird”. melanie is picking up hints of body coloration. That pair is definitely staying regardless of the outcome of city ordinance even if we have to hide them!!!

Well the bator is up and running awaiting eggs. The ones that were supposed to be here today were running late so hopefully they will be here tomorrow

How'd you cook it?

DW roasted them on the grill. That's how she likes them.
Comes out like rotisserie chicken (but smaller and better tasting).

So the others are supposed to be here Friday so I think I’ll set my eggs on Saturday so they all will hatch out around the same time

Found one pink/reddish tux dead just now.
No clue why.

it just happens sometimes my brooder deaths this time i attributed to piling up (even though it’s definitely warm enough in there). i also lost my older homegrown runt that had a bad eye.this is by far my “largest hatch”. 3 more hatched today!! 50/70 hatched so far plus 2 assists......waiting a few more days before I assess for problem children, cull, and determine final numbers.....
