➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Yeah, all except for the white jumbo love to sleep on my lap.. if you start petting their bellies they get hypnotised and fall asleep.. they love it. I think this is normal...???
Sure it's totally normal.

I couldn't tell you. I sent all my white jumbos to freezer camp and refuse to hatch them again. Sex-linked quail only for me, and they are the definition of not sex-linked.

I'm a little slow. The snowie ones are might lightest gray ones right?

Let me pull all of them out and stick them in a box and get some pics.
They are light gray almost pinkish little things. Here is a video I just took of my little bitty fake one. He is tiny.

Yep! Yeah it's the consistent gold/pink undertone and banding that's making me think it's something I don't have - either a lavender manchurian or silver diluted pansy type.

Normal snowie:

Can the roux gene be mixed with any other color to get sex links? And what are the other sex linked genes
there are other combinations, but the roux/pharaoh is easiest to differentiate at hatch which is why it is the most widely used. @CoturnixComplex would probably be the best person to tell which colors carry sex-link gene

There's a sex-linked brown and a sex-linked cinnamon too, but the documentation on them is not nearly as good so I can't even really show you what they look like.

You can absolutely mix roux dilute with other fancy colors to get sex-linked versions of those colors. See "autumn ambers" (roux-diluted goldens - they don't really do a great job explaining what they are here but there's a nice comparison photo) or my "sandies" (roux-diluted charcoal/grau-fee).

waterers cleaned....feeding done, poop trays on rabbit cages emptied and fresh shavings in their boxes! cleaned up dog poo in the yard, released some more littles! still have to clean brooders and move some bigger babies to grow out!!! DH is going to get up by 7:30 tomorrow so hopefully we can get all the “finishing touches” completed by the 10:30 inspection! it really sucks having to shove all the weekly, monthly, and biannual maintenance into 1 week (mostly after work)!!!

Well I have had 3 baby chickens die unexpectedly today I found the two dead at my lunch break then just had another die I think it may be coccidiosis it was my daughters chick she wanted me to bury it in the yard I had to explain to her why I couldn’t then I promised her some quail and she asked if she could breed the quail

That sucks...I am sorry.
Do you have Corid?
What makes you think it is coccidiosis?

The ones that died had diarrhea on their tail feathers and their crops only had water in them no food and I am giving corid hoping it will help but the other one may die it’s very thin the strange thing is I handled all of them yesterday and they were all healthy this is a pic I took yesterday and he was fine
