3 of them are falb fee, which are feather sexable. Definitely hens. The other two I got from someone else, but they have not exhibited any roo behaviour since July.

Strange then, because most of mine lay everyday.

I know, that's what I was thinking too! The little brown & green chicken eggs are 1st eggs, so that was a nice surprise to get too!!!

i’m not sure i can handle hatching anymore from my own eggs unless I set up specific breeding groups. I was blaming possible nutrition deficiency but now thinking there’s more to the genetics....DH started pointing out more differences in my birds today and my thought is that there can be more “lethal” combinations than just those widely known. Out of my 8 eggs set this time, I had 2 hatch so far. 1 is in the brooder and the other had significant deformity (it looked like intestines and blood around the vent so we culled) 3rd had a large pip with no progress, so we helped zip until saw unabsorbed vein and now waiting to see. will candle remaining eggs tomorrow if no more look close. Last set, I had 45 hatch, but extremely low survival rate. Variety is pretty to look at, but too much is not a good thing. Time to re-evaluate!

I worry about the lethal combinations as well, but I don't know anything about the genetics of Coturnix. I need to do more research into it to see if I have my groups set up properly.

I'm getting button eggs today.

My little incubator is set up and running for them. I should get the big one ready for my coturnix eggs. I haven't received a notification that they've shipped yet, though.

I'm getting 2 dozen button eggs. The person who had them on craigslist turned out to be my old roommate's parent's old next door neighbour. (Wow, that was a mouthful)
Yeah, I'm getting 20 each falb/grau/pansy fee from Myshire.
