Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
Actually, he's helping the tree by eating the bugs that are infesting it.
He'll never be able to eat all of the bugs that are killing this tree.you know what maybe he can hurry up and damage it more that way I can convince somebody that it really does need to be cut down.

I would not post about an illegal activity in a public forum. He is not hurting your tree. They do not peck live tissue. It is eating grubs and other bugs that are damaging your tree.
:th

No I have not.
I live in a city.
I see pigeons.

I thought you lived in the suburbs?

Also.. I apologize.. I thought they were pretty common everywhere. :hide

Sometimes I forget not everyone has as many trees and as much wildlife as we do. :lau :hide

I do live outside the big city but we don't have birds here.

You don’t have birds!? :th

I can’t imagine that. We have sooo many. Can’t always see them all but can hear them. Especially in the spring haha and when we feed them, you really get to see them. But I haven’t been feeding them lately.

I’m just shocked you don’t have birds there and also have never seen a woodpecker. :th

They are so common here which is why I was shocked. Didn’t mean to laugh. :hide

Also wait now I’m curious. I know you say you don’t have them here but you’ve never been outside the city either? :th

Let me go check and see if my new woodpecker is still here.

Hopefully he is.

I’m surprised you don’t have them there because when we were in Florida there was one hammering away on a palm tree right next to the hotel pool/in the courtyard thingy mere feet from us.

That’s interesting as many years ago I was on a college trip to your area for bird watching/identification

They must have birds there. Kiki must just not pay attention to them. :lau

Also... I doubt they go into the yard with all her dogs :lau
