My adults just got a bunch of worms today. They love it when I hoe up their pen. All of the poop gets buried to compost, and they follow the hoe around to grab the worms that get exposed.

My ground cannot be hoed most of the year.

My ground cannot be hoed most of the year.

Mine are in one of my garden beds right now. Next month they're going to move off onto a patch of weeds.

The garden beds are pretty soft and I try to hoe them up regularly to keep them weed free and soft so they're ready to plant. It rained last night, so the uncovered half of the pens was a bit muddy. Hoeing it up gets rid of the mud and helps it all dry out faster.

I am sure that your ground just like mine is currently frozen solid. It would take something more substantial than a hoe to break it up.

Ah, okay, just asking, lol. I use a coffee/spice grinder now, I got tired after using mortar & pestle for the 1st several months of quail raising! They do go through the powdered stuff fast, huh?
