I have decided that I am going to set eggs on May 7th. My friend and her kids are visiting the 22nd-25th. Her kids have never seen chicks hatch, so I thought it would be a fun treat to have them hatch while they're here.

Edit: That doesn't mean that I definitely won't hatch any before then. :

Days are getting longer. It's just a matter of time for love to be in the air. And foam on the ground.

Babies are a week old. Time for them to go outside. Still a little chilly is the problem.

I think a lady friend would get that foam flowing!

I'm pulling something. 30 eggs set 2 days ago. 2 more eggs yesterday and 2 more today. Gonna be a long hatch at this rate... If we get 85% again, this will be fun.

The eggs went in today I was able to use pieces of cardboard to divide the egg slots in my Nurture Right to the right size for quail. So, hopefully I'll have more quail in 18 days!

I had to do a similar thing with my turner. I super glued some plastic dividers in mine to get the eggs to roll properly and not roll them to the same spot with each turn.

Thank goodness we’ve got a backyard full of meat!! Meat market is currently out of chicken until next week!! DH said ppl are even hoarding dog food for emergency rations!!

please sex the 2 Rosetta quail. The 2 wild ones are boys. Thought they were just playing rough, now thinking they need more room.
