I see my first pip! You'd think I'd be over the excitement by now, but it never gets old.

Edit: I just set 12 button eggs in my little incubator. I really want to see if higher humidity makes a difference in the hatch rate. I wouldn't have set these except that I'm pretty sure I have a buyer for the extras.

It's SO much fun! I love everything about it... esp the candling and the hatching. And the candling--I love seeing the little life coming together.

I can't see through those Button eggs... all I saw before was either "clear" or "darkness" and aircells....

I meant to see if you see more pips.
I could not see pips unless I was candling them.

Only if their quail master puts things in the brooder that shouldn't be there.

Like a waterer with out marbles or something they can crawl behind and get stuck in.

Ah, I now have 2 with big obvious pips in them right now. I'm just not used to late hatches, mine are usually a day early, but I used a new incubator for this batch...

@Kiki Another Quail egg got cracked because I dropped the slippery little thing so... 28 Jumbo White MyShire eggs in tonight and 10 of my homegrown Jumbo Wild eggs.
I also sold $40 worth of quail eggs today to guy wanting to get started with some quail.
