I've decided my extra males are gonna live in with my Aztec ducks until I get around to, well, probably eating them. The pen is covered, should be safe from hawks. If they squeeze themselves out of the fence and get themselves eaten by something other than me, that's on them, lol.

These quail are tugging at my heart strings. Definitely really loving them. The chickens are watching them.

Aw, how sweet....
It makes me think of our old dog, Socks.

He’s the best!!! His name is Ike. He’s my brother’s dog. Last week I started taking one for the day every Wednesday and working on training, socializing, etc. Last week it was Franklin and this week it was little Ikey’s turn. Next week will be Libby.

Here’s the aviary thingy we are doing. The ducks destroyed half of my rose bush but I’m cutting it into the shape of a tree anyways.

I still need some things in there to entertain them. We are putting a Piece of fencing at the door.

It’s inside my fenced in run. It looks quite bare, but I’m working on it today. I need to go get some fake plants too. I just haven’t had time to go to the store.

that’s looking great!! your quailies are going to love it!! just be sure to double check the gap around the gate as these guys can squeeze through some pretty tight spaces.....it looks like your wire should be fine!! you can make them some houses out of flowerpots, totes, or even patio storage bench.....you could also stretch a tarp or cheap canopy over back half for extra shade/rain cover. we till and turn over the poo and soil about once a month and put mulch down in ours.....the subaviary has a mix of sand and pea gravel. i have my waterers on patio blocks and my big feeder is in a tray to catch food they scratch out......just a few tips/tricks that i’ve picked up from experience *edited cuz i just saw the canopy....duh* here’s a few houses
the rabbit hutches, logs, and igloo are available on amazon and at most pet stores. the flower pot houses came from home depot and the patio bench came from menards. we just cut holes in them for a door and the flower pots are upside down on a base so i can put shavings in them.

You can’t see but we put a piece of fencing so when you open the door it’s there. It just blends in. So far they are doing great. I’ll check them in the morning. The bunnies are outside too in their new hutch. I can’t wait to play with them tomorrow!
