Do you notice any of the dark ones being bigger than the others?I have so many pansy fee in the bunch. It makes me happy. View attachment 2141456View attachment 2141455
You aren't getting quail anytime soon so don't worry...you won't be feeling bad. That makes sense!! So yours are on the ground then? I think I would feel bad doing wire haha
It's horrible huh?Oh my goodness... some people go so long without getting an answer.![]()
I'll add you to the sheet now!I GOT MY QUAIL EGGS FROM MYSHIRE TODAY! 44 eggs, 11 from each snowie, celadon, Tibetan, and pansy fee! the eggs are so variable I love them!!
Why not set them now?Exactly how I feel, I can't wait for tomorrow when I can put them in the Bator. Some of the non-celadon eggs are greenish and have no blotches. Hidden celadon gene? or am i just crazy?

I thought you had to wait 12-24 hours for the air cells to settle or i wouldWhy not set them now?
I've only candled about half of them, but those looked fine. I'm going to candle the rest tonight.@Nabiki How are your eggs looking?
Why the tears? I'm thinking of keeping a breeding set of the pansies. I have two hens from my first batch in my mixed pen, so all I need are a roo and three more hens.
Several of the dark ones are big, but none are Goliath size. Goliath is still my favourite hen.Do you notice any of the dark ones being bigger than the others?
Remember Cinco de May eggs I set and gave to the lady?
She has one dark one that is double the size of the rest.
I am going to see it in person tomorrow.
I might just steal it.
you will probably be fine introducing the new batch as you only have 3 older ones......my mature males are the only ones that mess with the newbies as they will try to “breed” anything!!Can you introduce quail that are 2 weeks apart?
I think these quail will be ready to go out in about a week so I am just wondering how introductions go. I have a grow out pen in case they try to kill them, but I wanted the ones I like to be in the aviary together until they are mature and I can tell what they are then it will be decided if we keep them or not.
I don’t know what I have yet with those 3. I’m keeping 8 of the scarlet the rest are going to their new home on Sunday.you will probably be fine introducing the new batch as you only have 3 older ones......my mature males are the only ones that mess with the newbies as they will try to “breed” anything!!
