2019 Gosling Hatch-A-Long

I didn't see a hatch-a-long thread for this year yet, so here it is!

Who's hatching this year? Anyone have eggs going now? I set seven eggs on 4/2, and all seem to be developing. Strangely, one has a detached air cell, so we'll see how that goes. I also set a cracked one last night. Probably won't do anything, but figured I might as well try it. I'll be setting more as I get them collected, too.

I started getting eggs first of February. Didn't want to waste them because of course, it's my best goose. Put 20 in the incubator. All looked different at 2 weeks so wasn't too hopeful. Total bust. Zero hatched.
About 2 weeks later the nice older goose started sitting. The younger girls started about 10 days later. No clue how many eggs are in each nest. Came home to a peeping dog house. One for sure but the gander is hyper protective so i'll try in the morning.
Had all boys last year. Due some girls.

Not hatching but will be picking up our very first two Embden goslings this Saturday along with two aylesbury ducklings. How exciting!

I just got 7 geese eggs and 1 doz duck eggs Just warming up my incubator first time with both, usually do chickens,

My hatch is all done! 7 of my 8 eggs hatched and I’m completely smitten with them! Here’s a photo of the first one out.

First day out of the secure night pen. Final count 16 plus 2 finished in the incubator. 6 eggs they gave up on at the end are in the incubator. One goose went broody about 20 days after the first one so my thought is that they may still have a week to go. All developing.

I have 6 buff dewlap eggs on day 26 in my bator, and a few broody girls around the place. It's been a couple of years since I raised a clutch of goslings, so I'm super excited to hatch a few this weekend.
