This is Minnie. She is special in her own odd ball way. She was a house chicken for 3 weeks while I had Covid. As I went back to school I still had her at home. She would sit in my mom office on her towel all day. When I came home and say “MINNNNNIIEEEEEEEEEE” she would scream and fly (or attempt) to me. We did homework together. Now she is at the school, she must know I’m coming from a mile away because as I get close I here her screaming in her coop. When I let her out she just follows me. She is my show winner too.

Do you have a favorite chicken? Maybe she's extra friendly and comes running when she sees you, or she's the biggest character in the flock. Maybe she was a rescue chicken, or you hatched her yourself! Tell us about your favorite chicken!

It's easy to enter, just reply to this thread with up to four pictures of your favorite chicken or chickens, and you will be entered for a chance to win!

• An entry is one picture of your favorite bird. Please add a short description with your image in your posts. Examples...These are just examples of how to create your post, you don´t have to talk about all of them, and you can add other things you want, these are just a few guidelines in case you don’t know how to make your post.
  • Where did you get your chicken?
  • How old is your Chicken?
  • What is your chicken's name?
  • What breed is your Chicken?
• A member can have up four entries (only one entry per post please). Each entry can be about the same chicken or four different chickens, but please include a different picture with each entry.
• The picture needs to have been taken by you.
• You cannot use a photo that won an award in another BYC-sponsored contest.
• One picture per post, please.
• ALL pictures MUST be uploaded to BYC and not hosted on other image sites, personal websites, etc.
• Prizes are limited to one per person per contest.

This is my sweet Polish boy, Stevie. He had wry neck at about 6 weeks old and spent 2 months inside with me until he was healed. He was a sweet soul since he was a chick. I could tell he was gonna be different.

These are the flower sisters. They are a package deal. I bred them from my friends Cochins and had my broody monster hatch them. They are my rent-a-hen program for other student. They know how to do showmanship and look great in show. I let students take care of them ms show them for their project. This allows their parents to be happy they got involved but also happy it isn’t their bird. They are both harnesses trained and have been in a few parades.

Stevie loves to look at my phone. He is the sweetest boy. He is 21weeks and I love him to the moon! He is a Polish chicken.

Last but not least is Drama. She is Drama queen. She holds a special place in my heart. She is the first to run up to you. She will steal your food. And she is a litter poop cannon. She is fantastic with kids too. They are always fascinated but her pretty colors and big comb.

The only welsummer egg I ever hatched was a beautiful cockerel! I had hopes that I would hatch some crosses from him but unfortunately, the BO cockerel I hatched in the same batch won out

This is Little Roser, my favorite chicken of all! (Wrote about her in my BYC member interview). She is super nosy, and smart! If she sees the treat container in my hand, she will climb up anything as close as she can to get a look inside & see if it’s empty. She is so calm, and never gets annoyed when I pick her up.

This my son’s favorite chicken, Botta, a Buff Orpington. She is hilarious! Although she is beautiful, she manages to look annoyed in every picture of her we have. This is my favorite picture of her!

Here is our Olive Egger, Olivia, from Ideal Poultry. She lays a shiny olive color, and is the leader of our flock. She is the best forager in the bunch!
