6+ Frizzle eggs / $6.00 plus shipping / from SC / Wed, 12/10

Hi Angela!
The Frizzle girls are Cochins and Cochin x Silkie crosses (some people call them Sizzles) and are all blue or black.
The crested chicks are from the Cochin x Silkie cross hens (and that's where they get the dark skin / extra toes / odd combs from too).

The roo is this Cochin:

He (I was told) is 'lemon blue with the barring gene'.

The cuckoo (barred) chicks inherited it from him.

The chicks hatching yellow must be some influence from the lemon, but I don't know enough about genetics to predict how they'll look.
I think Sara (Chilling In Muscadine) hatched the only lemon blue youngster I've seen and it's frizzled to boot! I can't remember if it hatched yellow or blue.

He is beautiful Lisa. I have people here buying my ducks and mutt birds and see your chicks and now have a list for next yr wanting chicks or eggs. I tried to send them your way but they don't want winter chicks and want to stay local. I am beginning to think they are the smart ones, I have 21 chicks, 3 guineas, 6 ducks, 1 quail in the house and eggs still in the bator. And winter has just started!

Hi just wanted to let you know 8 out of the 9 eggs you sent hatched. They are so cute! The 9th one never developed so it really doesn't count. Yor eggs are just great. I will definately order from you again in the future!

Hi Willow! Awesome job incubating and hatching. Congratulations! Hope you get lots of little Frizzles.
About the one that didn't develop at all --- stuff happens even when they aren't shipped.
I had one blood ring in the Frizz eggs set last week and one clear in the Frizz eggs from the week before.

Hi Angela! The chicks are irresistible. I generally sell all of them I hatch before they are 2 weeks old. I *plan* to keep these next few weeks hatchings JUST FOR ME in the hopes of getting lemon blues and/or cuckoos.

Hi Joe! I saw by Track&Confirm your eggs were delivered. Hopefully, they were delivered to you and in good shape for incubating.

Hi Lisa, I meant to get updated pics of the 2 frizzle chicks we had hatch from you today, but I didn't get time.

I think we have one splash, who is soooo frizzled it isn't funny! The other chick is a smooth blue, I think. He/she hatched out black and yellow. The other chick hatched out kind of looking like a dirty yellow LOL They are feathering in real nice now.

Hi Aly! Can't wait to see them! I let the yellow chick and her sibs from the Frizz pen I hatched here go to a new home on Sat.
I have still not hatched a splash chick here from the Frizz pen.

Show me pics if you get any.

Well, out of the last batch of 18 I bought, I only got 3 chickies...1 SFGE and 2 Frizzles (1 w/ 5 toes?). Not your fault at all...a lot of them developed, but I just had some late quitters...maybe b/c my power went out one night and it was freezing! The Frizzles are a blue and a black this time...no more splashes, lol. The other 6 SFGEs I bought are due tomorrow and 3 are pipped, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for those!

ETA: I'll have to get an updated pic of the splash Frizzle that I kept from last time...she's almost 7 weeks old already!

Thanks, Lisa! Everything is good, they are in the "incubator" . Sadly, my hens were afflicted with Pox this week, so my star Broody is on R&R. My best friend will be caring for the frizzles until I can get my current flock healthy.

Hi Joe! That's great to hear, but sooo sorry you got pox. I hope everyone comes thru it ok.

Hi Kelly! I have SFGE hatching right now too (set the 2nd). I may have to help them out. I set up the hatcher Wed but forgot to move the eggs. Woke up this morning to chicks pipping in the turner --- duh!
