A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

So, we seemed to have survived our 1 inch blizzard! Never got out of the 20's. Had enough, winter can end now! Luckily it will be in the 70's next week.

I will say my turkeys took full advantage of the snow! They bolted out of their pen flapping & twirling. Then they figured out it was fun to eat it. My chickens are wimps. I'm a wimp. At least the turkeys enjoyed our little winter Wonderland!

Seriously, is there anything more fun than turkeys being silly? I ventured out & kicked their soccer ball around for a bit. They were running & hopping around after it. They really are goofballs!

First, I have to say it is hard to think of Snowflake as Pearl. Just not right!!! The poor girls is going to be all confused.

She is a potential lapper the way she clung to me when I carried her.

I think "Snitch" will become a lapper too. At least a tolerant.

I have a RP Tom I have been eyeing as my Daddy RP. He may have other ideas. I thought he gave me the stink eye and wanted to attack me today. Attacking me will forfeit all rights to breed and breath. He had better learn his spot soon. He is a nice looking Tom, I just refuse to put up with one I cannot trust. Hopefully, JJ and Sidekick will put him in his place. Of course, I could send him to Wy. I hear there is a guinea and turkey rancher there that rehabilitates Bad boy turkeys...

I am down to 24 turkeys now, only 12 more to go!

I pointed out Pearl & Snitch's lapper potential awhile ago! Given the chance I think both you & Coffee could have cozy lappers in your laps snoozing in the sun! :) Maybe Judy could be convinced to work with Snitch!

You got rid of Pearl, did Holm come get his hens? Or did some head-off to freezer camp?

Lets see a picture of that RP!

Porter is not a lapper he is definitely a tolerant, he does think he owns the farm he follows us EVERYWHERE, he is always making sure we are doing our jobs right, he makes sure everyone is in their place and he is our watchdog, no one is allowed to pull into the driveway and get out of their car unless he inspects them 1st. i have several friends that refuse to get out of the car till i shue him away, he has protected me from roosters and i had couple shady characters show up 1 time and I'm thankful Porter was next to me and he was not happy and he was making it known, I was thankful that he looked big and bad, he usually lets Lily get away with things but he will put her in her place when she gets out of hand, all the chickens know he gets 1st pick at the house leftover bucket and if they go near the berry bushes all chickens know they will get jumped on and a feather or 2 pulled, BUT i cant keep a red berry for myself because he thinks they belong to him. I will Forever Love Porter,I'm sure my place would be boring without him..

And Ralphie wha wha what,,,12.... wait a min....my whole turkey addiction is because of you ,,, you have to keep me supplied.. :) LOL...

I hope some day to have a lapper,,,

Memphis funny story about leaf blower,,me and hubby was at Ralphies picking up Pearl and 2 turkeys were peeking through the window i think they wanted cherry muffins and coffee also or they were just being nosy,,, anyways Judy went to sneak out to scare them off her deck she grabbed her leaf blower and before she even opened the door they took off as fast as they could, it was funny to see Judy storming outside with the blower on and chasing turkeys,,, kinda looked like she was trying to shoot them with some grenade launcher...LOL...

For all the Turkey lovers, did you know that turkey have a cosine called Ocellated turkey, Meleagris ocellata?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocellated_turkey

You should forget about Ocellated turkeys. They are a tropical bird and would not survive without a heated location where you are located. There are lots of threads on them if you spell the name correctly.

As you can see from my previous post, Ocellated turkeys have been discussed on this thread and also have their own threads in the Turkeys forum.

No, I didn't read all the previous posts, so I didn't know that. And it doesn't matter that they have their own thread. And I am sure that even that you discussed them in the past we always can discuss them again. And I am also sure that you don't mind to see this wonderful birds again.
