A Question Out of Genuine Political Curiousity

* This is so discouraging!! I have tried protest by abstaining-- for all the good that does; and I have tried voting for third party candidates who have had no real hope of winning change. I am not confortable with either. Nor am I confortable with either of these major candidates, though!! Ugh, ugh, Ptooey!! Ptooey!!

Do away with the corrupt, two-party political system and get back to "We the people....".

Time for a revolution......don't believe everything they feed you through the idiot box.

It's definitly frustrating. I may want to vote for a 3rd party candidate even though I know that person has effectively no chance of winning.

It's a waste, and maybe it's even effectively a vote FOR the winner, but I don't know what else to do.

I'd vote for Mr Abraham Lincoln....he cant do anything right now for this country while he is dead but history repeats itself.

I'm not happy with the choices I see on the ballot! I vote at every election (not just presidential) and it makes me sick most of the time that I'm not getting to vote for someone I believe in but voting AGAINST someone else, lesser of 2 evils.
The thing about politics that makes my blood boil is politicians making a career out of holding offices....Holding an office is like winning the lotto what with all their pensions, medical care, and other perks. But naturally none of them would be willing to introduce regulations limiting terms. I personally plan to vote against the incumbants, many of the reps, US senators & state senators are up this fall and they're not getting my vote!

Sigh. I think either one will say or do anything in order to get elected. I AM going to vote but its a tough decision.

Does all politicians, vice pres. and presidents get salaries, medical health care, pensions, retirements and bodyguards FOR LIFE after they leave office or retired? If so, who pays for it???????????

Did Nixon still got his benefits after he was impeached? Did they take away his benefits or cut in half of all the expenses?

If more people believed a 3rd party has a real chance of winning, more people would vote for a 3rd party and real change could happen.

I completely agree, i left the major parties back in the 90's and now routinely write in who i'd like for whichever office instead. This year it'll be Ron Paul for me. For the most part I just can't go the lesser of 2 evils route.

If it makes you feel any better I have been boycotting the olympics as well for the same reason and it feels like i'm all alone in it. So i'm glad there is someone else out there bothered by this.
