Almost got Scammed - Updated Last page!

I am really glad you did not get scammed, but remember there are legit people out there.

I for one had only spoke with a gentleman on the phone about a room for rent in Mt before we moved. I told him we would take it sight unseen and pay him first and last plus a deposit and my DH would be arriving in about a month. He sent the contract in the mail, DH signed and we sent him a check, we also told him DH would not be staying for the year of the contract because I would be coming and we would want to find a house. I never dreamed that someone may have thought I was trying to scam them, and good thing the gentleman didn't either. He sent us the keys to the apt. after he got the check, but before it was cashed.

Some of us are for real!

Im playing tricks with a Chinese scammer, they keep asking me if I want to buy jerseys. So I ask what kind you got she says I got Chinese jerseys and Thai jerseys. Then she sends me a email saying I added you on MSN I still didnt reply hahaha

I had advertised a couple of horses (an Arabian mare and a stud colt) for sale a few years ago.. got an email from someone who was interested in my "item".. asked if there were any "dents or cracks"... I wrote back and said that there were no dents.. but one of the legs kept falling off and we used some nails and some super glue and glued it back on.. but it looked good from a distance.. also told them that the paint was chipped off in a few spots but shouldn't be too noticeable..
they wrote back asking for an address as to where to send the check.. so I gave them the address of the FBI... never heard back...hmm.. wonder if the FBI ever got their check...

But if you had told him you were sending him the check and adding extra money in so he could pay your Uncle Joe $500 that you owed him on your behalf, and would he mind forking over that money up front while your check clears.......I bet he wouldn't have been so cooperative then. You weren't asking for him to spend any money on your behalf, that's a huge difference in the stories.

Ouch!! Sorry to hear this I hope justice finds it place in this situation... Its not like it used to be years ago its getting to the point were you can trust anyone ya know.

Well, I was wondering how they thought they were going to get $ out of me...and this mornings email explained it

Seems the moving / shipping people have emailed her (much to her horror) that they now need payment BEFORE her stuff gets delivered otherwise they will return it to her now empty previous house
