Ameraucana Egg Laying “Schedule”?

Look on youtube for egg song chicken and you'll find lots of examples. Be sure to turn up the volume 'cuz the hens sure do. :) Your mileage may vary but all of my pullets that are laying are singing, not always when they lay but if I had free rangers, I'd sure pay attention to where they are and where they go when they sing. It's believed by some that she sings to call a rooster to escort her to and from the nesting site. Well, even if there isn't a rooster, they sing anyway.

If they're nervous around you, now is the time to work on that.
It's ideal to be able to easily handle your birds at any time you want to. Although taking them off the roosts at night for an examination is a common practice.

If you can catch them, it should be fairly easy to check.

They won’t stress out if I do that though?
Probably, but they need to get used to being handled.

Yes!
Getting them off the roost at night is not as stressful, IMO.
But my roosts are set so I can easily reach them, just for that reason.

Get both your hands around the bird to hold it wings down.
Then move it to a 'football' hold, one arm around bird holding it against your body and keep the feet from tangling in your clothing.
Talk to them softy and touch them under their beak and front of neck.
Then put them back with both hands holding down wings, get their feet settled on roost, and let go with a little pat to the back.
Once they are used to this it's much easier to handle them because now they understand....
"if the human touches me, I won't die". :gig

There r no amarucanas (I can’t spell sorry) BAs and Buff Orpington. Make sure they are switched to layers feed and have oyster shell out for calcium. Then keep them in so they don’t lay somewhere random.
Just got back from Blue Seal with a bag lol but I have to mix it with the mixed flock feed because I have guineas and a few younger chicks too.

Oh yah, I guess you do. Put out oyster shell to so that they r getting enough calcium 👍
I do provide the oyster shell grit but they don’t seem very fond of it in fact they don’t seem interested in it at all and I think part of the problem is for a “grit” the pieces are quite big especially compared to the limestone grit I was providing them
