Any home remedies for Flu (human flu not chicken)

Me and my mother say this about my dad..he is great at sharing. If my husband is around him and my dad is sick, I tell hubby, wash your hands and don't get them around your mouth . My dad gave my mom and grandpa COVID. Thank God everyone was ok..my grandpa just turned 80.
Thank god everyone was ok 🙏 hmm, maybe sharing is not so great after all 🤔 I might have to keep my little generous Johnny in isolation if he comes down with anymore bugs 😷 😂

I don't do citrus and vodka ever..I am reminded of a 20 something waking up with barf in her hair...orange vodka and peach schnapps...never ever again..lol. Live and learn..lol.
Oh noooo, I’m the same…I can’t do strong drinks, the hangovers are ruthless 🥴 just a couple of malibu’s or aTia Maria’s are my limit. Although I have heard vodka is a very good cleaning agent…that’s probably why my DH’s insides are sparkling :gighe’s well preserved!

I swear by oil of Oregano. Not oregano oil, thats an essential oil and highly concentrated. Every time I've been exposed to a virus over the past few years I've taken a capsule, never caught anything. Make sure you take it WITH food though. Its spicy! 🥵 Hard on the stomach if you don't eat food with it.

I hope you feel better soon! I'm sorry. :hugs

Is this the correct one? I can get them on prime, so delivery will be tomorrow. Hopefully after everyone’s help, I will be as fit as a fiddle in no time! 💕

I haven't seen that brand before, I'm sure it will work. :) It looks high quality.
I originally learned about Oil of Oregano when doing research for my dogs. I have an article (for dogs) that mentions the things to look for when shopping for brands. Since you would give dogs the same oil as used for people, its the same concept. I can link that if you like. :p

Saute onion, celery, carrots, garlic (if you don't make your own broth with these in it)
Add to chicken broth
Add pasta (precooked or not)
Add seasoning... salt if your broth doesn't have any, black pepper, parsley, maybe others... red pepper flakes, turmeric, ginger - for medicinal reasons more than taste so be a bit cautious with them.
Simmer until you like it. Or longer.

It really is that simple. Proportions of any of it don't matter much other than don't make it too thick. The only thing really essential is the broth although the other things have some medicinal value too. So make it even if you don't have some of the ingredients.

If you make your own broth: roast a chicken, remove most of the meat, simmer all the rest in water to cover it. Actually, I sometimes remove the skin too. Add any/all: onions, carrots, celery, garlic, salt, black pepper, parsley, red pepper flakes, maybe other spices. Amounts of the optional things don't matter much although if you put too much in, it may become vegetable broth instead of chicken broth. Simmer for many hours.

Fyi, the capsaicin in hot peppers is better than commercial meds for clearing the upper respiratory parts and helping with coughing. This because it works well and gently - working with and supporting your immune system more than so than many of the commercial formulas do. That isn't handed down by family though, so I forgot it. My parents and grandparents didn't like spicy food.
The soup was delicious 😋 we had chicken stock already in the freezer, (My hubby boils the bones and does his bit of magic) he added the onions celery and carrots (he calls them the holy trinity) panchetta, a couple of cloves of garlic, turmeric, red chilli flakes, Savoy cabbage, chicken, we didn’t have pasta so used cannellini beans instead, seasoned with salt and pepper, we had it with a tiger roll with butter…I’m starting to feel human again!! 🙏
