Anyone annoyed by these phrases? Or, another attempt at humor by Q9

I was just thinking about this thread when a local commercial came on about credit counseling. Something along the lines of your financially in a hole and now is the time to dig your way out of that hole.

I have never understood that phrase, if you keep digging in the hole it only gets larger and or deeper. What you need to do is build a ramp out of it...

Whaaat, I kinda LIKE Preggers... it just sounds stuffy and formal to say a sheep is Pregnant. my sheep are either preggers or bred. except, of course, when they're not.
... guess it's all viewpoint...
my hubby LIKES it that I call him Hubby

and I've found that since I moved to Missouri, I rather like it when the helpful folks at the hardware store call me Darlin' with their little bit of drawl... kinda sweet and friendly actually.
but Baby, now, only my Hubby gets to call me that.

I was gonna say "it is what it is", but I'd better not... so... C'est la vie.

is it better if you say it in French?

Wouldn't that be, Comme si, comme sa?

Yep. C'est la vie means "that's life". My husband started saying "it is what it is" after every conversation this last year! Got to where I wanted to step on his toe every time he said it.

Another one I hate is "butt load". As in, I have a butt load of homework. When did it change from a boat load to a butt load? And what, exactly, does that mean? Yeesh!

Never thought of that, but I see how it does not make sense.

ETA: Maybe they are talking about being in a hole that caved in and you have to dig your way up?

we always used C'est la vie with a shrug, as in "That's life, what can you do about it?".. you know life just is what it is...

"OOOOOO...... BURN!"
rant.gif
Really you have to be so childish to say that you "burned" me. Sheesh!

"Tushay" Its okay when you know what it means but I have asked a ton of people who have used this word if they know what it means and they say I dont know it just sounded cool. Tushay- a fancy way of saying "good reply" or "that is quite a good comback"

"Baby daddy"
he.gif
I mean cant you just say "this is the father to my child" Baby daddy just seems like oh he just happens to be the dad but I dont want him to be.

"Holla" I am not one that yells for no reason so NO I will not holla at you unless you make me mad by saying this obnoxious word to me.

When you are telling someone something terrible or serious with a straight face that you shouldnt question and they say "NO WAY" with a poop eatin grin on their face. I just want to respond with "No, I just stood here and wasted my time and breathe telling you this and I am joking. HA.....HA.....HA! Wasnt the story about someone being in a car wreck hilarious!"
