I have babydolls, sorry I just saw this post as I have been helping string fence for those babydolls. LOL As for loudnes no they will baa, but they arn't loud, its not like a cow that bellows. Just loud enough to let you know they are around. If you really want a small size go for the "old english" not just baby doll there is actually a difference, I have one of both. I also have a chevet (I think) and hes a cutie pie as well. I love my sheep and would love love love to add on,
My suggestion if your serious is to join one of the yahoo groups in whatever breed you get. Then theres a searchable database (although it can be a bit out of date) for sheep http://www.nebraskasheep.com/directory/Breeds/Babydoll_Southdown/

Whats the difference between the mini breeds wool wise? Who has the softest wool?
