APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

yeah i'm going to be setting 6 eggs 3 RIR and 3 assorted bantams on the 14th for the cino de mayo HAL but first i need to figure out why my temps won't stay down. ( i have a home made incubator) But hopefully the motor i ordered for the egg turner will get here before the hatching eggs do i would love to have the whole incubator completely finished by the time they get here

Elliot's Pheasants: 28
Silver Pheasants: 24
Hume's Bar Tailed Pheasants: 16

The barnyard mixes went to their new home today, so I am getting ready for the dominiques and the ducks that will hatch this weekend. 7 cayuga ducks, all looking great, and 2.5 dozen doms.

How do you guys clean your styrofoam incubators? Since I am hatching eggs from different people I am concerned about cross-contamination. Can the bottom half go in the dishwasher?
I let mine sit in a bathtub of bleach water for 15 min, then let it dry off either under the plant lights or in the sun. And I use a bit of bleach water on a rag to wipe the inside of the lid and anything else that was in there. I also either use new humidity sponges or bleach them too.

So I had a full turner for the Easter Hatch a long of mille fleur d'Uccles, but it was also kind of a test. I knew quite a few of the eggs had gotten pretty cool before collecting, and I had been collecting for 21 days (I only have 3 hens, so I only get a couple eggs a day average). Pulled half at day 10 for being clear, so I'm down to 21 of them in there. 2 are iffy as to if they are quitting early, but I'll leave them until later. Couldn't stand the empty spaces in the turner, so I filled it with Ameraucana/Araucana bantam crosses (I had 15 collected, but candled before setting and found one had a hairline crack and it was also one that was kinda dirty so I chose to leave it out) and 4 eggs from one of my favorite "mutt" hens crossed with my d'Uccle roo (she was in their pen as a pseudo broody to try to keep their eggs from getting too cold before collection since her eggs are significantly larger and darker. So I guess I'll have staggered hatches. Thinking I will pull half the rails from the turner and put in a plastic container I sometimes use to separate breeds at hatch in there to hold the eggs while they hatch to keep the babies from getting caught in the turner. That is unless DH can help me make my coolerbator and have it operational in the next 10 days.
