Snowy is very cuteTwo of them didn’t live for very longbut Snowy is a Sussex X (I think) and she’s coming up to 3 years old. She comes from a lineage of a mother and grandmother who lived for 7+ years. She’s a stubborn broody and full of personality.

G'day! Australorps are wonderful. I've only got one but she's a darling. Good luck with the rainbow eggs hatch!G'day!
I haven’t logged into this site for years!
We received a work transfer in 2020 so I rehomed my chooks before we left Cowra, NSW, and upon arrival in Grafton, NSW (at the height of the pandemic and restrictions, mind you) I decided that our new yard was too small for chooks.
Fast forward to Christmas 2023 and whilst in isolation (my third time having the plague but my wife's second dose) I was yearning to hatch some chicks. I decided that I COULD make room in our tiny backyard so I bought an incubator and a dozen Australorp eggs and three weeks later had 8 chicks. 4 turned out to be boys but I’d lined up someone to take them before I bought the eggs. (It’s not my first rodeo!)
Anyway, the girls are now laying and we’re getting 2-4 eggs everyday. I have a dozen "rainbow eggs" in the incubator and hope to hear some cheeps and see some fluff balls over the long weekend. View attachment 3954728View attachment 3954730
