AUTUMNAL EQUINOX 9/23/2010 set this morning- 34 eggs! anyone with me??

i have one with runny veins... (ameraucana egg #13) and theres a small blob that moves slowly... i'm not sure what is going on in that one i thought it was dead for a few days however movement = don't take it out of the incubator, for me... so it's still in there. doesnt even look like a chick.. just an amoeba. it's rather strange! about 2 cm wide at most... and the rest of the egg just looks like an ... well, an egg... with this one big blob of a vein. i've the never had one look like this so i'm leaving it in there out of sheer curiousity. the rest of my eggs when candled CLEARLY have chicks in them. wings, feet, feathers, Yay!

curiousity though.... who knows, maybe it will do something? watch me end up with a retarded chick.

Well the one with runny veins turned into nothing when I checked the wee hours of this morning when I put the French Black Copper Marans on lock down in another incubator that I am using as a hatcher. The standard and bantam Barnevelders go on lock down tomorrow. Finally on Tuesday the Partridge Cochins that are showing definite development go on lock down Tuesday. I do not know how I ended up with such a staggard hatch on my first try at this, but this is exciting and I hope everyone's hatch goes well. Anxiously, looking forward to 9 babies sometime between Monday and Tuesday and on and on the rest of the week!!

Yay, so I put my eggs in the bator on the Equinox day as planned. Put them in lockdown Sunday evening, got my humidity up and spritzed them with some water (acctually more like soaked them since the sprayer wasn't spraying right lol)! Just waiting anxiously for pips and zips! I'm using a styrofoam incubator with the air circulator, I've done really well about not opening the bator this whole incubation. I did try to candle on day 10 and couldn't see anything on any of the eggs, darn eggs are hard to see through so I decided not to bother candling any more. I hope to see some chicks soon, this is only my second incubation. The first time I only got 1 chick out of 5 eggs. I'm doing RIR's this go round and doing a dozen and a half!

Hope everyone's hatching goes well!

I hope your hatch goes well for you! Mine are peeping and I have 3 pips so far. They went on lockdown early Sat. morning, so yours should be getting going tomorrow sometime.

Our first baby hatched around 2am...this one is from one of our girls in our coop. She was still fertile 2 weeks after being with a roo!!!

This is the 2nd one, our daughter's egg...it was supposedly not fertile. Looks pretty fertile to me, YAY!!
