Crowing
Long time no see, BYC! I'm having an awful situation, one of my favorite hens I believe is terribly egg bound.
I have no experience in egg binding, the only hen that had it died without symptoms last year.
Its been so cold I try to keep the door shut, so I race in, feed/water, race out. Which is a bad thing to do, I know better. So I dont know how long she's been acting off.
The hen is almost exactly 1 year old this month. She is a super blue egg layer, thin body shape(but she isn't actually thin), lays a gorgeous bright blue egg.
Her symptoms are standing straight up, butt nearly dragging, but her neck is slightly arched. Her feathers are slightly ruffled, I assume from discomfort.
She makes a slight wheeze before straining to poop/lay the egg. I THINK I can see the egg, but she isn't the tamest hen so holding her still to REALLY look is hard.
I will attach pictures here in a few minutes, I wanted to post this thread first.
What do I do? I love her very much, I want to try my best to help her.
Ask all the questions you want, I will answer the best I can.
