We think Pen is a male and Pal is a female, but we may be wrong! Pen has been molting for a while, which seems to affect his behaviour somewhat. Here's a pic of Pen from this morning:

I've had to watch 18 of them molt recently, don't let it worry you. Soon he will have a perfect new suit of feathers.
They can do sad eyes so well!
No doubt! I always feel bad for my chooks in molt.. especially when its cold and windy..
