Barred Rock Cockeral

I have this 12 week old barred rock cockeral, I want to keep him but I have heard a lot of mixed reviews on the breed of rooster. I have a 22 week old Speckled Sussex rooster and he is a perfect gentleman, and I dont want to mix a mean rooster into the flock because I keep them as pets. Whar are y'alls opinions?

I've had two hatchery barred rock roosters and I didn't have any problems with aggression with mine. I don't handle my roosters much, so they all run the other way when young, and it works out good for me.

I've found them aggressive sometimes. But depends on the amount of space you have.

As of right now hes a very good boy BUT with him being a teen he can be feisty.

Try not to give him your back if starts acting up. You also may want to make sure he stays a respectable distance back. 5-10 feet seems to be that magic number.
