black friday.... is it really worth it?

It sounds like you'd be better off shopping online for Black Friday. You'll probably get WAY better deals and the stuff you want.

Yah. You can get really good deals online. They are saying that the Internet Black Friday surpasses in store shopping. And you can get a preview online on Thursday.

I've worked retail on four Black Fridays.

Now I spent Black Friday huddled in my closet, rocking back and forth while sucking my thumb and whimpering. Booze is usually involved.

I almost died last Black Friday (which was my first "Black Friday"- I'd never gone before)
I was innocently walking into Target when a giant MOB of crazy women nearly trompled me to get a pink digital camera that was evidently on sale for a super good price, and I'm not a small woman. My advice, if you do decide to participate, go with an entorage of large, mean looking men.

People are crazy.

You'd probably have fun going to Buffalo ... it isn't quite the big city as some other areas. With the economy the way it is, things may not be as packed as some previous years.

Shipping to Canada would defeat any savings ... !!

I've had some amazing success in the past, but I usually have gone to computer stores etc. I'd NEVER go to the mall or Wal-Mart or those places. My worst experiences were at BestBuy and Fry's Electronics. Best was at Staples (some killer rebates and just submit online... no mailing).

I get excited and look the day before, but it takes much better deals than the "3 pens for free" to get me out of bed to wait in line in the freezing cold.

I don't go in for that kind of "race" stuff.
I like to mosey and take my time.
Besides, I don't buy very much "popular" stuff anyway.

I was usually lucky enough to avoid it when I worked at Wal-Mart. I was there a couple of times when I was a cashier, but it's really just all the same when you're at the register. A never-ending line of customers looks the same whether it's "black friday" or any other day between Thanksgiving and Christmas!!! lol
