Two sick chickens, about 10-12 weeks old. 2 have already died.

It started with one sick looking lethargic chicken, we I picked her up fluid came out her mouth. I vomited her and then brought her inside overnight giving her only water thinking it was sour crop. She had very watery poop, by the morning she had died in the crate. When I went outside to the coop another had died in there.

I felt all the other ladies crops and two were quite full first thing in the am. I thought it was strange for them to all suddenly come down with sour crop until I noticed bloody diarrhoea from one of them, picture below. I’ve given Clotrimazole for the sour crop but also started Amprolium yesterday. They are both still looking ill, not really moving but will drink a little bit of water with encouragement. I can’t get them to eat at all. I’ve been giving some water with amprolium by syringe to keep them hydrated but make sure they are getting the medicine in them too. Their crops are still very full with I think some gas bubbles in even though they’ve not eaten anything?!

Do you all think this coccidiosis? Something else?
What should I be doing??
Can coccidiosis then cause slow/sour crop?
Don’t want to lose any more of my ladies, they’re still so young and growing so don’t think they will be able to go days without food 😢

Could it be worms? Would you get such bloody diarrhoea with worms?

Not sure how to treat for coccidiosis and worms at the same time when both need to be mixed with their drinking water?? Mix them in together?

What do you feed them?
Why did you stop feeding them? They can still eat some with Sour crop, although for so many to get sour crop, leads me to think it isn't? Does it smell? Don't vomit a chicken unless it's the last resort, it's too easy to cause them to choke. You might have to tube feed but you really have to know what your doing. As for the coccidiosis, what dosage of amprolium are you using? Is it Corid or another treatment?

Coccidiosis is a yes.

The slow crop.. ugh, Marek's converging with the coccidiosis could cause a whole host of problems.. were they vaccinated against it by chance?

Are they out on pasture now and if so how long have they been out? What is their feed routine including treats and supplements before now?

Worms don't cause bloody poo. Don't treat for that right now.. just treat the crop stasis.. and the coccidiosis.

Sour crop is caused by lack of movement.. they probably need some massaging too or treated for blockage instead of just the fungal infection..

They just eat medicated pullet grower and the occasional fruit or veg scrap.
I haven’t stopped feeding them, only the first night but I’ve had their food on offer, even tried scrambled egg which they usually love… they just look at it and turn away.

I don’t think it is sour crop because of the reasons you mentioned and it doesn’t smell, it is just full of fluid in the morning which I believe also isn’t normal.

I’m in Australia so don’t think we have ‘corid’ specifically. I’m using this

I don’t think they were vaccinated but unsure to be honest, I got them from a local produce shop. I’ll try giving them a call to confirm.

Usually, They have medicated pullet grower feed and grit on offer always. They might get the occasional bit of fruit or veg. We let them out to free range around the garden for an hour or two most days, that started about 2 weeks ago.

Sorry I was wrong, I just called the store and they were vaccinated

I know this is old but I’m going through the exact same thing with my 17 week old hens!! What did you do about the ones with a full crop? How did you get them to eat or digest? I am worried!!!
