I've been reading and watching this thread since I saw it watching the progress, the thing I think working against you is all the movement, since we're told to let the eggs settle after shipped because of all the bouncing they take, and how will you go into lockdown, it is possible that you have a floating aircell that you can't see.
gl to you I'll be watching.

Incubation day 6 starts at 8pm EST. I now have an air cell, but a very small one. I'm thinking the development is more like a traditionally incubated 4-5 day old embryo. It seems like I've had this egg under my.... um.... well you know, for weeks and its only been 5 days. On the bright side, that's about 25% incubation time done with 75% still to go. I am expecting a later hatch than 21 days however. I think when it's time for lockdown, that will occur in the valley of the brabator with a warm wet cloth as needed for humidity. I'm still concerned about the air cell formation and if this baby will know which end is up. For now....

Both pics are of the same (and only) egg.

Can you see the air cell in the pics? I have the worst time with candled eggs, I can never see anything

So exciting though that its doing well! I have a feeling hatch day is going to be an experience!

I can only see the air cell when I position the egg at a certain angle but I do know the air cell is not nearly the size it should be and the development of the embryo seems behind schedule. Maybe if I choose to ever do this again, I would place a few in the hovabator to compare to. I'm concerned about the humidity level in the brabator and of the amount of movement this little one endures. Again, I am by nature a pessimist/realist and am prepared to accept that this experiment will fail. I most likely will not try this again. I have a bit of a moral/ethical issue when it comes to playing with life, any life.

Interesting, I was thinking my singlets with the shelf bra would be perfect because it would hold the egg in the valley. I'd be afraid the underwire would break the egg elsewhere. Oh, hang on, no wires in a sports bra hmmm.... time to sort through my underwear draw, DH is going to think I've lost my marbles...
