Hi Ya'll,
New to the Brahmas this year. We got some Blue Partridge chicks from Greenfire. They have definitely earned a place here. Love them! Are all of them as HUGE as the Blue Partridge? Looks like you have a bunch of fun projects going on.

I had a Rooster who weighed 13 lbs at 18 months which isn't even full grown. Sadly he passed away, but he was a massive and awesome rooster.

Our partridges and "special" colors are much bigger than our other Brahmas. Our one buff girl almost looks like a bantam in comparison, and I've given up on buff laced and gold laced because I'm afraid our massive roosters will hurt them. Our main rooster, Samson, is close to 17 pounds, and his son, Burt, is now taller than him, although no filled out yet.

This is Burt, about 8 months old.

Oh my gosh that is a crazy difference in size. We got some solid blues and blue columbian in our auction package from Greenfire and as chicks they were much smaller than these kids. Only room for one of the varieties so we stuck with the Blue Partridge. Glad we did the colors are amazing and the size mind blowing. It's a good thing they are sweeties. The patterns need cleaned up some, even for a female breeder line. Type is good ???

He is 7 mos old Looks like they are walking around on stilts!

At 10 weeks, mine were as big as my common chickens (RIR, BR, etc). I've been away for a couple of weeks and I'm told that they are even bigger now. That is part of the reason that I bought Brahmas, I wanted large, beautiful birds!

Other than the hocks.

Other than the hocks.

@big medicine Can you point out what the problem with the hocks are? I know that I've been questioning whether my cockerel has vulture hocks or not and would like to know what you see that indicates a hock problem. I don't think that mine has enough feathering in to tell yet.

@Chickenhill do you do anything special to the feathers? They are so shiny!
