The fact they are both buff (gold based) tells us they are pullets. If they were cockerels they would be split silver/gold, and be much lighter.

Thank you!The fact they are both buff (gold based) tells us they are pullets. If they were cockerels they would be split silver/gold, and be much lighter.
Really not too bad. I like the fact that he is an EVEN shade of buff. His wing carriage is a bit weak. Head a bit narrow. Primaries are supposed to be mostly black with a buff line along the forward edge. Can't tell much about overall width. A photo from the rear would help. I know its very difficult to tell from photos, BUT...looks pretty decent ESPECIALLY for a hatchery bird. Weight? Age?Here are a couple pictures of my buff brahma rooster, he is a hatchery quality bird but I would like to know his defaults because I HOPE to breed brahmas some day....once I get some good stock to start with that isKeep in mind that his tail is still growing back, he wasn't getting along with the other rooster(now removed) and had a bare butt.![]()
Now with my very untrained eye and lack of what to look for and with my handy dandy standard of perfection book at my side.....I would say :
Carries wing a little low
Has a short back
Has some black feathers in primaries, although not sure if that's the end of the world? If someone could confirm/deny
Head isnt wide enough, it does go over his eyes somewhat but just doesn't have the width I've seen in others
Those are my views, idk if they are valid or not so if I'm dead wrong let me know. Otherwise, do your worst, like I said...I know he's not mr perfect and just want to know what to start to look for.
