We have to care that our animals are housed best.
Organisation as PETA or other do not sleep and wait to see bad pics and get bad information.
Breeder or bird lovers they give his animals a bad housing and.......harm with his doing all other breeders !

Wow, this got ugly.

I'll just answer the question. We put 3-5 birds in a 10 by 30 pen with 10 by 10 covered area. The pens are 8-10 feet tall. They thrive, have full crests, breed, show no feather loss or damage and the damnedest thing is that we can leave the pens open and they will come back every time.

Hairco. It looks like it will be great. Im sure the size will suffice as well. Generally your birds themselves will let you know if a pen, avairy or enclosure is not big enough. I cant choose a side because I like the bigger is better but this too to a point. I have also seen perfect feathered and happy birds in small pens.So Im little to no help on the bigpen/small pen discussion. LOL! I wish I had bigger pens but money and space are a problem where I live( in the city). We do our best with what we have. Im sure you will too.

Wow! Looks like home! I too am basically cutting my pea's area out of the woods. Wish my ground was cleared of snow as yours is, i'd be doing mine as well.

But what size is the house part where they go when it rains

I finally measured it and the area that they go in to (a fully covered area) to get out of the rain is 13 x 9. They rarely stay in that area because they enjoy roosting in the wired/uncovered area. The entire pen is 30 feet long, 13 feet wide and 8 feet and a few inches tall. They have NEVER at no time have had any raggedy feathers or missing feathers, missing or raggedy crowns AT ALL. They have plenty of room.
