Dried as oppose to fresh? Any particular reason? How does one dry the worms?

They are freeze dried so not something you'd typically do yourself. You can get a big bag of dried worms and it'll last you for months.
Of course, you can also grow your own fresh ones (lots of threads for that here), but that's a pretty significant undertaking.
My girls gobble down dried and fresh equally enthusiastically.

Yup... we don't bother washing before boiling either.
