Hi @whoop whoop , what does retrenched mean? Sorry if it means you lose money over it. It's always hard trying to deal with a government body, they always think yours is theirs.

@NorthFLChick retrenched means that his company thought they were paying him too much when they could utilise three USELESS people to do the same job for the same money. Their loss because when he left, the company lost contracts and folded due to lack of management. I was so happy.. Yes they paid him out and now the Gov wants a fat share.

Krista thanks for advice DH got an accountant on it, but they still want a tax directive and all sorts of thing to make stealing your money legal - I sound so bitter - join you with that drink.lol

I agree with you all it would be so nice to meet for coffee or even cocktails! you can tell the loneliness is getting to me.. I sometimes get so sick of the housework, the house and eternal food shopping and meals would like to just go out for the day and have a big fat 'jol' - just once would set me up for another few months

I have an idea why don't we rent a huge boat and meet somewhere in the middle of the pond - your side would be better because of pirates but at this stage even they might life more interesting

Ok, I understand now what you mean @whoop whoop , about retrenched. That happened to my dad back in the '80's. Anyone that had been with the company 30 yrs or more had a choice of either taking early retirement or being demoted and training their new bosses, which were young kids fresh out of college. Dad took the early retirement and was so glad he did. The company sank and anyone that stayed lost a big chunk of their retirement benefits. Sometimes what looks good on paper isn't.

Sorry you all are having to deal with this.

@NorthFLChick you see you can't replace experience with 'the book of the face' and 'the twit' - Perhaps this is why DH has been so 'grumpy' not being challenged, anyway he is doing his own thing now drawing little boxes of houses to build on his huge plot when we find it - so he can rent them out and make lotsa of $$$ I just don't want to disiliusion him he will need lotsa$$$ to start his project. Maybe he will win the lotto who knows ..

Morning! Still here....
So DD, are you non-alcohol or non-drunkeness? Just curious, it has nothing to do with my next comment. Maybe you could ask the Booze ladies to do something, seeing as how they are more outgoing, and just explain to them your feelings or do a lunch thing - less booze, and I bet a couple of them will enjoy a break from the mayhem because it seems that most people just go with the flow in closeknit areas and don't dare start swimming upstream. You could say that for medical reasons, you don't drink, but would love to toss one back and do not want to be tempted, so go do something non alcoholic with them. A little white lie or not might just be a way to get to know them without seeming like you are criticizing and there just might be someone in that group that would love to drink less alcohol. It seems worth a try. If the Boozy ones don't want to play, then at least you know....
Alright that is my pre-coffee advice. Out here in Colorado, at least where I am, people don't seem to judge you based on clothing, drink, food, job or smoking choices. It is just whether or not you are a good person and seem to work around all of the other stuff. I hope it works, everyone could use a 4-D friend for sure. You know they have 3-D printers now....
