My local fair is judged by an APA judge and has good quality birds though.

I am soo jelious...I have to mile the heck out of my car just to show poultry

Same here...I have local fairs but their shows aren't APA sanctioned, the nearest APA sanctioned show I have is more than 6 hrs away!

I was nice to one breeder (he was asking tons for his stock), and he gave me them for 75% off!!!

I was nice to one, and he sold 25 dollar birds for 20 dollars each. Though show quality, they were just rip offs. They never layed an egg for as long as I kept em' and died easily.

Wow that's still cheap! I pay $25 for ISA brown hens here!! The cheapest show quality birds here are like $50 with an average of $150 each!!
