genetics booksYep, I love genetics! I've been interested to know, but never had a reason to go learn. There's still more to learn, but I'm not sure where I can find what I want to know.
actually... are those your eggs in your profile pic?I didn't have time to read every page from today but I read most of them and bravo! You're doing such a great job! I don't know genetics, coding or illustrating but I'm very excited about this project and am cheering you on!
I would gladly check for you, but my avatar eggs are from a previous flock. My suspicion is that pink eggs are just a light rosy brown color, but you are right to want to check. Our current eggs look like this.

It's very light, but it does look like the inside of the shell is pink....Lol, thank you for sharing what you learned. Very interesting that the bloom starts colorless but picks up some color along the way. There are purple eggs and gray eggs too. They are amazing, but seem kind of like rare unicorns to me.
So, I searched the topic on BYC and apparently lots of breeds can lay pink eggs, even Barred Rocks. In some cases, maybe pink is in the eye of the beholder. Buuut, while light brown eggs with bloom might look pink and be white shelled inside, I found something interesting on page 7 of this thread. Check it out.
