I disagree. I think guests should be able to see the genetics calculator but have limited use. In order to get full use of the genetics calculator a person has to have a BYC account.
If we did that, it would need to be integrated with the XenForo permissions system, which would add a huge amount of complication to it, as discussed previously.

I don't think that's a good idea. If BYC members have unlimited access it means people with banned accounts or who share a banned IP cannot access all if any of it.
It's a lot easier and more accessible if it is it's own page/webpage.

I think guests should be able to use it. Guests should always have full access to the educational side of byc, especially if people are using it for something educational. (For some reason.)

I'm open to adding it to BYC, but would have to determine what it would require / cost to get it developed, and try to gauge how much interest would be out there. Also, we'd need to make sure we were creating something that was uniquely interesting and valuable / helpful compared to all the other options that are already out there.

Earlier in this thread, I believe there was discussion around creating a "proof of concept"... like in Excel / Google sheets or similar? That way it could be fleshed-out before doing a full-on web development.

There are members who have volunteered to help develop it, like @PuzzleSilkie, but I guess we were just trying to gauge how interested you are in adding it to BYC :p

I think PuzzleSilkie's idea is to create a script that is independent of XF, but that takes data from an XML file to the calculator can be expanded without having to rework a bunch of the code.
