California - Northern

Had to run into town to pick up dog food at 3:00 today, when I got back and looked at the thermometer on the bator it was down to 80° at 5:30. Someone tripped the GFIC and it had been without power while I was gone. I've got it back up to 98° now, hope I caught it in time, they have looked pretty strong up to this point. Time will tell.

Went out this morning to see if the partridge was still on the eggs I left her with last night, found a BSL on duty instead so I pulled the eggs. I'm sure they will start up soon enough.

I had a hatch that had 3 major power outages and I still got a bunch to hatch. Most of them were cockerels, but they still hatched.

The Blue Egg layer sage continues! The one I found still in the shell with now pip stayed in the incubator over night and perked up nicely! First thing in the morning I checked on the 6 outside and found one cold outside of the ecoglow. I guess they are smaller than most of the ones I hatch. It was cold but its eyes were kind of looking at me, so I put it into the incubator with the last chick to hatch. I took one side off of the ecoglow so that the chicks could make better contact and later set up the big light for them. The almost dead one was fine and back to normal in a couple of hours and is now back with the others. They are all doing fine and I have Four Blue ones and 3 Splash ones: I am off to get them some Chick vitamins and plain yogurt!
OK Ron, do you have a picture of what this breed looks like grown out... Congratulations!

Congratulations on the chicks you guys!!

Molly those baby goats are soo cute! Is this the season they are for sale? I need a few goats over here!

Amy you really have a heavenly talent with those cameras. Can i hire you maybe next year when all of my orps are grown up? I want to put my website together at the end of this year- the beginning of next year.

My father love Goat as much as I love Chicken. We have a very hard time parting with any of our animals. LOL
HMMM.... I wonder Where I got my Addictive personality. They are so sweet. It is always amazing watching the goats and sheep have the babies..
The Mama's Are so tame, we can pet there head while they are Delivering... It was a special day for sure.
I get tears of joy every time I watch.

Kelly,

We have a the stuff to Milk them. We have not done it yet. I'm hoping to do it in the near future!
For now it is just a dream...

We had a lot of Excitement here on our little farm today....

TRIPLETS

AND TWINS

Our new blessings!
How exciting for you all! They really are beautiful babies too!
Quote: We had 2 goats we purchased to eat the weeds in our horse pasture but they were fed alfalfa by the previous owners so when we fed the horses they cried and cried and never ate the weed we wanted them to. So we found a little ranch who does children's parties, petting zoos and with young girls who are involved in 4H. They both had babies, same as yours, one had twins the other triplets and they've won all kinds of awards with them. I'm so happy that they didn't work for us because the goats are living their best life where they are!

Congrats to all the new chicks hatching! I'm hoping to order an incubator today! You know the minute I do, those darn broodies will commit!
