~*CAROLINA CHICKENSTOCK "SPRING" 2012*~

This was a great event.

Although I did figure out that I may spoil my chicks a little to much!

Lots of people had day olds with no light! My broody hens take their chicks out in the cold mornings so I know I am a little cautious of them.

Better to be safe then sorry,

Anyways got one blue Wyandotte and one Silver laced Wyandotte both pullets.

I went with the intention of getting 6 chicks and 3 ducklings... well we came home with 9 chicks and 4 ducklings... 2 frizzles, 1 GLW, 2 EEs, 3 silkies, and 1 D'uccle, 3 Runner ducklings and 1 Muscovy duckling.. My mom is glad it's over. I personally wish it happened more often lol

we took chick but expected it to be too hot for them instead it was too cool so we wrapped a blanket around them and got hand warmers from Samantha to keep them toasty.

Just to say:

Trish and Kevin, thanks for a wonderful day, you have done so much work to organise this I applaud you both.....

There were so many I met today for the first time I cannot remember everyone's names! But if you want to say hi, just drop me a pm........

Amy, many thanks for a wonderful incubator! It is home, the tuner has been placed inside and it is running..... Temps are looking good, so I will give in until tomorrow morning until I put my eggs in........

To those who bought my chicks - many thanks - please let me know how they do!

Mary, a wonderful new jar of honey - simply the best I have ever tasted......

If I have missed anyone I am sorry..... just say hi and I'll get back to you....

Gavin.
Hi, Gavin
It was really nice to meet you. It was a good turn out. There were many people interested in my husband's "Super Coupe". I'm really glad that they like it so much because he really put a lot of thought into the design. I really enjoyed the chicken talk. I will upload a couple of pictures of the chicken tractor for you. If you would show it around your part of town we would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Suzanne

Thank you all for such a great day! I went mainly just to look, but ended up coming home with 6 chicks, a pretty BR hen, and a dozen duck eggs that are in the incubator now! It was so much fun, and I will definitely be bringing all of the roos from this crop to the next one!

Are there going to be any more this year?
