I got mine (as 8-week olds) for £10 each! I can give you the name of the breeder if you want to investigate import options...

I have them in the US - am getting ready to release hatching eggs this Spring. They are fantastic, gorgeous birds.

I may buy some eggs once I get an incubator soon then! I may breed them for meat and eggs if I had hens and roosters though because mom said we can only keep roosters for breeding if their cockerel sons become dinner... The only other way a rooster stays is my other rooster Pepper (Tobi is my breeder in my pfp) Pepper stays because he is pretty good as a flock guardian, out best flock roo ever.

Gorgeous birds! Do you know how heavy they get?

I supposed 5-6 lbs for hens and 7-8 for roos. Just my guess from looks.

I used to have some and know someone that still breeds quite a few but not many people want them in the UK. They lay very well though.

Thats too bad. I would take some.

The Norfolk Grey originated from Norfolk, England, around 1910. They are believed to have been developed from Silver Birchen Games and Duckwing Leghorns, by a breeder named Frederick W Myhill of Hethel, Wymondham under the name "Black Maria". The breed was first exhibited under the name Black Maria at the Dairy Show in 1920. But in 1925, Myhill applied to the Poultry Club of Great Britain, to have the name changed to "Norfolk Grey" as the breed did not gain popularity under the name Black Maria. The breed lost popularity and was thought be extinct, until in 1974 four Norfolk Greys were found in a privately owned flock and the breed was recovered, though is still very rare today.
